Katherine Sian Moennig was born on 29 December 1977, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, and is an actress, perhaps best known for being a part of the series “The L Word” in which she played Shane McCutcheon from 2004 to 2009. She’s been active in the industry since 2000, and all of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Katherine Moennig? As of mid-2018, sources inform us of a net worth that is at $2 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting. She has also taken part in other series and numerous films. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

At the age of 18, Katherine moved to New York City to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She began her career appearing in several commercials and campaigns including the Our Lady Peace video entitled “Is Anybody Home?” She also worked for Fleet Bank as well as the Hurricane Katrina Red Cross campaign. Afterwards, she became a presenter at the 17th annual GLAAD awards, and then landed her first major role in the television series “Young Americans”, a spin-off from the series “Dawson’s Creek”, in which she played Jake Pratt. Soon, more opportunities would open up for Katherine to help increase her net worth including – as she is lesbian – more such roles, and was cast in the role of Shane McCutcheon for “The L Word”, in “Everybody’s Fine”, “Art School Confidential” and “Ray Donovan”. She also started to do transgender roles, including in “Boys Don’t Cry” as Brandon Teena. She also played a transgender woman in an episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”.

In 2006, Moennig then appeared as a part of the production of “Guardians” in her off-Broadway debut, which would be a part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and won the Fringe First Award. The following year, she became a part of the documentary entitled “My Address: A Look at Gay Youth Homelessness” which revealed the tribulations of homeless gay youth. In 2009, she was cast in the television series “Three Rivers”, however the series was removed from the schedule of CBS, and there was no plans for it to return. She then appeared in an episode of “This Just Out”, so adding steadily to her net worth.

In 2013, Moennig became an ambassador for the clothing brand Wildfang which focuses on clothing for tomboys; she appeared in the launch video and also designed limited edition boots. Around the same time she was cast in the series “Ray Donovan”, playing the role of the assistant Lena. One of her latest projects is the audiobook “The Late Show”. All of these opportunities increased her net worth further.

For her personal life, it is known that Katherine had a relationship with Holly Miranda from 2008 to 2013, and then dated actress Evan Rachel Wood in 2014. Her mother was a Broadway dancer and her half-sister is actress Blythe Danner. She is also a cousin of actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
