Jon Richardson Wiki Biography

Born Jon Joel Richards on the 26th September 1982, in Lancaster, Lancashire England, he is a comedian, best known to the world for his appearance in the show “8 Out of 10 Cats”, and its crossover show “8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown”, among many other accomplishments.

Have you ever wondered how rich Jon Richardson is, as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Richardson’s net worth is as high as $5 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the entertainment world, active since the late ‘90s.

Jon went to Ryelands Primary School for his elementary education, and then enrolled at Lancaster Royal Grammar. Following his matriculation, Jon enrolled at the University of Bristol where he took Hispanic Studies, but after only a year and a half, he left college and got employment as a chef. However, that also didn’t last long, as he started pursuing his career as a comedian.

Having lived with Russell Howard, John Robins and Mark Oliver in Bristol for one year certainly helped him to get accustomed to a comedic routine, and in 2003 he won the BBC “New Talent Comedy Search” event, which launched his career. The following year he spent developing his live performances participating in numerous comedy festivals, while also appearing at the Criterion Theatre in London’s West End, where the judges were highly impressed by his performance. This further led to an appearance in The Comedy Zone at the Edinburgh Festival, and he toured across Ireland and England for 60 days with Alan Carr. In 2007 Jon came to prominence with his solo show “Spatula Pad” at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, winning the Best Newcomer nomination given by the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, and continuing right on, in 2008 was the recipient of the Chortle Award for Best Breakthrough Act.

Thanks to his success on stage and in clubs, Jon was recruited by Channel 4 to feature in their highly-acclaimed show “8 Out of 10 Cats” in 2010, and until 2015 was the captain of one team. In 2012, he became the team captain in the crossover show “8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown”, and since then has appeared in over 70 episodes, which has greatly increased his net worth.

Concurrently, Jon hosted the show “Stand Up for the Weak”, and served as a writer for 12 episodes of the popular show from 2011 to 2012, further increasing his net worth, and since then has released three comedy documentaries – “Jon Richards: Funny Magnet” (2012), “Jon Richardson Live: Nidiot” (2014), and “Jon Richardson: How to Survive the End of the World” (2017) – which have increased his net worth to a large degree.

When it comes to his personal life, Jon has been married to comedian Lucy Beaumont since April 2015; the couple has one child together, a daughter born in September 2016.

Jon has been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, which he often implemented in his comedy routines, including in his solo show “Spatula Pad”, and also in the documentary about the particular disease – “A Little Bit OCD”.

Jon has also revealed that he is a vegetarian.
