So how much is Olsson’s net worth? As of late 2016 it is reported by authoritative sources to be over $3 million, acquired from his years joining in various skiing competitions, product endorsements and hosting his own events.

Born in Mora, Sweden, Olsson started enjoying ski racing from a very young age, until he was sixteen, when he decided to switch to twin tips, and enjoyed free styling for a time. It was after eight years that one of his friends, fellow skier Jens Byggmark, challenged him to a bet that he needed to enter the Olympic Games in 2014.

With the challenge of his friend he decided to switch back to ski racing, and started to train to qualify for the Olympics. Unfortunately because of a knee injury in 2013, he wasn’t able to fulfil his dreams of competing in the Olympics, but despite these minor setbacks he continued to dominate the sport nonetheless, making him one of the most famous skiers in the world and tremendously helping his net worth.

Some of the competitions he dominated included The US Free Skiing Open in Vail, The Winter X-Games 08, the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championship in Riksgränsen, The Red Bull Big Air in Åre, and the World Superpipe Championships in Whistler to name just a few. The many competitions that he joined throughout the years plus a total of nine Winter X-Games medals all help catapult him to success, and increased his exposure as well as his wealth.

Aside from consistently winning in many ski competitions, may it be free skiing or race skiing, Olsson also became famous for the moves that he created that became a phenomenon among other skiers and enthusiasts of the sport. Some of these moves included the DJ flip, in which he does a D-spin 720 into a flat spin 540, the hexo flip that includes a switch double rodeo 1080, a kangaroo flip in which he does a double flat spin 900 and the tornado which includes doing a switch cork 720 to flat spin 540.

With his success in the sport, Olsson has now also been hosting a big air event since 2005, called the Jon Olsson Invitational. He also hosted a freeskiing film competition called the Jon Olsson Super Sessions, for several years until 2010.

Today, aside from hosting his ski festivals, Olsson is also known for designing his own car.

In terms of his personal life, Olsson is in partnership with long-term girlfriend Janni Deler, dividing his time between the many ski-fields around Europe, and a base in Marbella, Spain.
