Jimmy Buffett Wiki Biography
James William Buffett, commonly known as Jimmy Buffett, is a famous American musician, film producer, singer and songwriter, as well as an author. To the public, Jimmy Buffett is known as a member of “The Coral Reefer Band”, which is Buffett’s touring and recording band. Over the years, “The Coral Reefer Band” has featured such honorary special guests as Paul McCartney, Steve Goodman, Rick Flair, Harrison Ford and Clint Black among others, all of whom appeared on stage with the band. Jimmy Buffett made his debut in the music industry in 1970 with the release of his first studio album entitled “Down to Earth”, which spawned such singles as “The Christian?”, “Ellis Dee” and “Captain America”. Throughout his career, Buffett has recorded some of the best known songs, such as “Come Monday” and “Margaritaville”. “Come Monday” was released in 1974, and was Buffett’s first single to reach the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100, as it placed at #30 on the chart. The latter song, “Margaritaville” came out in 1977 and immediately after its release became one of Buffett’s most popular songs. Not only was it covered by such celebrities as The Rock and Alan Jackson, but it also became a popular brand name for a variety of merchandise, including “Margaritaville Tequila”, “Margaritaville Men’s and Women’s Apparel”, “Margaritaville margarita mix” and “Margaritaville Outdoor & Beach Furniture” to name a few.
In addition to being a singer, Jimmy Buffett is also a well-known novelist, who has published such best-selling books as “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, both of which were named after his songs. A famous singer, as well as a writer, how rich is Jimmy Buffett? Sources state that Jimmy Buffett’s net worth is estimated to be a remarkable $400 million, most of which comes from his singing career, and business ventures.
Jimmy Buffet was born in 1946, in Mississippi, United States, but spent most of his childhood in Alabama, where he attended Auburn University, and later enrolled in the University of Southern Mississippi. Even though Buffett always showcased an interest in music, his first job had no relation to his future career. Shortly after his graduation from university, Jimmy Buffett took up a job at “Billboard” magazine, where he held a position of a correspondent. Buffett’s professional singing career started in 1970, when he released his debut album called “Down to Earth”, which was followed by “High Cumberland Jubilee” and “A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean”. Up to date, Jimmy Buffett has released 27 studio albums, the most recent being “Songs from St. Somewhere”, which came out in 2013 and immediately upon its release placed at #4 on the Billboard 200 music chart.
As a writer, Jimmy Buffett excelled with the releases of “Tales from Margaritaville” in 1989, and “Where is Joe Merchant?”, which was published in 1992. Both of these books became best-sellers and inspired Buffett to continue his writing.
A famous singer and author, Jimmy Buffett has an estimated net worth of $400 million.
