Since September 2017, he has been ranked the no.4 UFC pound-for-pound fighter.

His second bonus award of this category came in April 2015, when he defeated Cub Swanson at UFC on Fox 15. That same year in August, Holloway became the youngest fighter in UFC history to get 10 wins, after winning a fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 74. Max faced Anthony Pettis at UFC 206 in December 2016, winning the fight via TKO in the third round, and secured another Performance of the Night bonus. When it comes to his most recent activities, Holloway faced featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 212 in June 2017, who he defeated in the third round and earned another Fight of the Night bonus award. Later that year Max signed a new deal with UFC, and in December fought against Frankie Edgar at UFC 218, and by winning the fight, Holloway retained the UFC Featherweight belt.
