Imani Hakim Wiki Biography

Imani Hakim, born on the 12th of August, 1993, is an American actress who became famous for her roles in the television series “Everybody Hates Chris” and in the TV movie “The Gabby Douglas Story”.

So how much is Hakim’s net worth? As of early 2017, based on authoritative sources it is estimated to be $500,000, acquired from her years as an actress, working in both film and television.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Hakim was raised in a single parent home by her father, along with five brothers. Her passion for acting started at a very early age, fortunately supported by her family.

While in elementary, Hakim also pursued acting and attended Karamu House Theatre to improve her talent. She and her whole family then moved to California so that she could attend other acting schools, the Alexander’s Workshop School in Lakewood, and The Young Actor’s Studio in Burbank. While honing her skills she also started to pursue a professional career.

One of Hakim’s earliest acting gigs started when she appeared in one of the commercials of McDonald’s. Although it was a small role, it was the beginning of her professional career. Hakim was then able to land one of her most memorable roles to date, when in 2005 she became part of the television series “Everybody Loves Chris”, playing the role of Tonya Rock for the entire four seasons of the show. Her character made her a household name across the US, and established her career in Hollywood and her net worth.

The show opened more opportunities for Hakim, and led to plenty of other acting roles, including in “E. R.”, “Wizards of Waverly Place”, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigator”, and “The Replacements”. These various appearances certainly helped raise her net worth.

Aside from television shoes, Hakim was also able to appear in various movies, including “Reign Over Me” with Adam Sandler, “The Hobbit”, “One Angry Juror”, “Cinderella”, and “Chocolate City”. One of her biggest roles to date was when she played the character of Olympian Gabby Douglas in the Lifetime movie “The Gabby Douglas Story”, starring along actors Regina King, Sydney Mikayla and Epatha Merkerson. Her performance in the movie led her to be considered for a 2014 Emmy Award Nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie.

Today, Hakim is still active in Hollywood, with recent appearances in movies such as “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens” and “Chocolate City Vegas”. Aside from acting, she was also named as the official celebrity hair brand ambassador for SPA313 Hair Salon, that also helped her career and wealth.

In terms of her personal life, she is single and lives in Los Angeles, California.

Imani Hakim Quotes

  • I decided that I wanted to be an actress at the age of 7. This is something I’ve always known.
  • I just would like to be challenged. I want to push myself to the limit, and constantly challenge myself and grow as an artist. That’s where I want to go. Explore different things, different characters, in film, and just everything!
  • When people say, ‘If you could do anything else, what would you do?’ I would be an actress. That’s something that I would do – I can’t see myself doing anything else.
  • I was a big fan of Raven Symone, when ‘That’s So Raven’ was out. I used to say, ‘Oh my God, that should be my show!’
  • I owe my success to my two families. If my father hadn’t been willing to make sacrifices for me, I would have never won the role on ‘Everybody Hates Chris’. I like working with my television family, too. We have a lot of love for each other.
