Gerald Edward Levert was born on the 13th July 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, and was a singer, producer, songwriter and actor, best known to the world as a part of the group LeVert, but he also had a successful solo career, during which he released 11 studio albums “Private Line” (1991), “Love & Consequences” (1998), “G” (2000) among others, and including two posthumously “In My Songs” (2007), and “Something to Talk About” (2007). His career was active from 1983 until 2006, when he passed away.

Have you ever wondered how rich Gerald Levert was, at the time of his death? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Gerald Levert`s net worth was as high as $5 million, an amount he earned through his successful career as a musician.

The son of Edward Levert, singer of the R&B group O` Jays, and his wife Martha, Gerald traveled across the USA with his father`s band, and while growing up his interest in music would become bigger and bigger.

He was the initiator of the founding of LeVert, alongside his brother Sean Levert and friend Marc Gordon. Their debut album came out in 1985, entitled “I Get Hot”, but without any major success, nevertheless, the trio continued to work together, and in 1987, their third album “The Big Throwdown”, achieved gold status, and ended up at No. 3 on the US R&B chart. The albums that followed, including “Just Coolin’” (1988), “Rope a Dope Style” (1990), and “For Real Tho’” (1993), all achieved gold status, which only increased Gerald`s net worth. Before they disbanded the trio released one more album entitled “The Whole Scenario” in 1997. Some of the hit singles that made them popular include “Casanova” (1987), “Addicted to You” (1988), “Baby I’m Ready” (1991), and many others.

Gerald was also a part of the supergroup called LSG, which also consisted of Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill. They released two albums, “Levert.Sweat.Gill” (1997), which achieved double platinum status, adding further funds to Gerald`s net worth, and “LSG2” in 2003.

Gerald also performed on his own; his debut album came out in 1991, entitled “Private Line”, topping the US R&B chart, achieving platinum status and certainly increasing Gerald`s net worth. During the 1990s, Gerald`s career was on top, and with albums “Groove On” (1994), “Love & Consequences” (1998), which achieved platinum status, and “Father and Son” (1995), and “G” (2000), which were gold certified, his net worth rose further. He released albums until his death – “Gerald’s World” (2001), “Stroke of Genius”, which was his first and only No. 1 album, and “Do I Speak for the World” (2004), all of which added to his net worth.

During his career, Gerald also collaborated with numerous artists, producing songs for Barry White, Anita Baker, James Ingram, Teena Marie, and Stephanie Mills among many others.

Thanks to his skills, he received several prestigious nominations and awards, including the Soul Train Award in category Favorite Band, Duo or Group Album, for “Big Throwdown”, and was posthumously awarded with the Grammy Award for his album “In My Songs”, among many others.

Regarding his personal life, Gerald had three children, but his marital status wasn`t made public, or the name of the mother(s) of his children.

He died in sleep at his home on 10th November 2006, from a heart attack, which was apparently caused from overdoses of pain prescription drugs, including Vicodin, Xanax and Percocet, among others, which he had been using since 2005 after he had shoulder surgery, and needed drugs to ease the pain.
