George Raymond Stevenson Wiki Biography
George Raymond Stevenson was born on 25th May 1964, in Lisburn, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, the UK and is an actor perhaps best known for playing the role of Titus Pullo in the television series “Rome” (2005 – 2007). Stevenson has been active in the entertainment industry since 1993.
How much is the net worth of Ray Stevenson? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the overall size of his wealth is as much as $8 million, as of the data given in late 2017. Film, television and stage are the major sources of Stevenson’s modest fortune.
To begin with, he moved with his family to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England and then to nearby Cramlington, where he grew up. Being the second of the three sons of a Royal Air Force pilot, Stevenson, as a child, dreamed of becoming an actor, but believed that this dream was impossible to achieve. Then he devoted his energies to his other love, art. Thus, he attended an art school.
Concerning his professional career, he debuted in a small role in the television series “A Woman’s Guide to Adultery” (1993), then created the character of Steve Dickson in the series “Band of Gold” (1995). In 1998, the actor was cast as a main in the Paul Greengrass’ film “The Theory of Flight”, but his breakthrough only came with the role of Titus Pullo in the series “Rome” (2005 – 2007) in which he starred with Kevin McKidd. His interpretation of the character of Pullo earned him the recognition of the public and the critics, and improved his net worth considerably.
He landed the role of Isaak Sirko, a recurring character in the seventh season of the series “Dexter” (2012), for which he was nominated for a Saturn Award. What is more, Ray was one of the main actors in the military science fiction film “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” (2013) by Jon M. Chu, which grossed $375.7 million at the box office. Then, Stevenson portrayed Phillip Bedford in the film “Jayne Mansfield’s Car” (2013) written and directed by Billy Bob Thornton, and the same year, he was in the list of main actors in the film “Thor: The Dark World” (2013) which grossed $644 million worldwide. He continued by landing a role in the science fiction film “Divergent” (2014) which grossed $288.9 million, and in the sequels “The Divergent Series: Insurgent” (2015) which grossed $297.3 million and “The Divergent Series: Allegiant” (2016) which grossed $179.2 million at the box office – being involved in such commercially successful projects has certainly done his reputation and net worth no harm at all!
He was chosen to play the role of the Blackbeard pirate in third season of the series “Black Sails” in 2016, and most recently the film “Final Score” will be released in which Ray will be seen as one of the main characters.
Finally, in the personal life of the actor, Stevenson married actress Ruth Gemmell in 1997 who he met while both were filming the television series “Band of Gold” in 1995, but the couple divorced after eight years of marriage. Since 2005 his partner has been Italian anthropologist Elisabetta Caraccia – the couple has two sons.
