Earl Christian Campbell was born on 29 March 1955, in Tyler, Texas USA, and is an ex- professional American Football player, and currently a businessperson. Also known as “The Tyler Rose” he is one of the few Heisman Trophy winners to have been a first overall National Football League draft picks. He is known for his rushing on the football field. He also holds the record for rushing 200 yards in three games which is yet to be broken.

He played for six years in Houston Oilers, and then in 1984 he signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints where he played in a diminished role for a year and then retired. Campbell won the Heisman Trophy in 1977, and was the lead runner with 1,744 yards. He was the first recipient of the Davey O’Brien Memorial Trophy in 1977. Earl has other several trophies from his career, and was also inducted in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame on July 27, 1991.
