Dayanara Torres was born on the 28th October 1974, in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is a model, actress and singer, best known as the Miss Universe of 1993. Dayanara has appeared in numerous films and TV series such as the “Watch Over Me” (2006-2007), “The Nail: The Story of Joey Nardone” (2009), and “Looking for Maria Sanchez” (2013).

Torres starred in the romantic-comedy “Basta’t kasama kita” (1995), and also in 1995 had a lead role in the musical “Hataw na”, while she ended the ‘90s with the role as Isabel Torres in the action movie called “Type kita… Walang kokontra” (1999). After returning to Puerto Rico in 1998, Dayanara recorded her only studio album entitled “Antifaz”, which topped the Billboard charts in the Philippines and Puerto Rico as well.
In 2004, she appeared as Elise Tomkins in two episodes of the American soap opera “The Young and the Restless”, while from 2006 to 2007, she played in 66 episodes of the series “Watch Over Me” – her character of Julia Rivera is central to the plot about people who are involved in biological research. In 2009, Torres co-starred alongside William Forsythe, Tony Danza and Billy Gallo in the drama “The Nail: The Story of Joey Nardone”. Her latest part was in 2013 when she played Yolanda in the romantic-comedy called “Looking for Maria Sanchez”, the story about two Puerto Rican people who fall in love.
In 2006 and 2009, Dayanara published two books: “Sonrisas Sanas y Hermosas de Ricky y Andrea” and “Married To Me: How Committing To Myself Led to Triumph After Divorce”. Most recently, Dayanara returned to the Philippines to serve as a judge on Miss Universe 2016.
Regarding her personal life, Dayanara Torres married singer Marc Anthony in 2000, but after plenty of turbulence in their marriage, they divorced in 2004. Dayanara has two children with Anthony.
