Darby Stanchfield Wiki Biography
Born Darby Leigh Stanchfield on the 29th April 1971 in Kodiak, Alaska USA, she is an award- winning actress, who is probably best known for starring in the role of Abby Whelan in the ABC’s series “Scandal” (2012-2017), as Shannon Gibbs in the CBS series “NCIS” (2006-2015), and playing Loretta Johnson in the film “The Sacrifice” (2009), among many other differing appearances.
Have you ever wondered how rich Darby Stanchfield is? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of Darby’s net worth is as high as $2 million, as of late 2017, accumulated through her successful involvement in the entertainment industry which started in 2000.
Darby Stanchfield was raised with her younger sister in her hometown by her father, who worked as a commercial fisherman, and her mother, who was a housewife. She is related to legendary Disney Studios animator, Walt Stanchfield, who has worked on such animated films as “The Jungle Book” (1967), “The AristoCats” (1970), and “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (1988).
Upon high school matriculation, she enrolled at the University of Puget Sound, from which she graduated with a BA degree in Communications in 1993. After that, she attended the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, where she earned a Master in Fine Arts degree.
Before making her screen debut, Darby was building up a name for herself in theaters, and then in 2000 secured a minor role in the TV crime drama series “Diagnosis Murder”. After a number of minor roles in such TV series as “Angel” (2001) and ”That ‘80s Show” (2002), she made her film debut in 2005 with the role of Sybil Vane in the horror drama film “The Picture of Dorian Gray”, based on Oscar Wilde’s book of the same name, and directed by Dave Rosenbaum. Two years later she was selected for her first recurring role, as Shannon Gibbs in the TV crime-drama series “NCIS” (2006-20016), appearing in seven episodes in 11 years, which only increased her wealth. Also in 2006 she was given the role of April Green in the TV action drama series “Jericho” (2006-2008), while in 2007 she played Amelie Joffe in the TV drama series “General Hospital” (2007), and Helen Bishop in another drama series “Mad Men” (2007-2008), while in 2009 she had a supporting role in the short film “Sacrifice”, which earned her an Angel Film Award in the category Best Supporting Female Actor, Short Film.
In 2012 she was chosen for one of her most prominent roles so far, as Abby Whelan in the TV thriller drama series “Scandal” (2012-2017), and has appeared in all 109 episodes of the show so far, which only increased her wealth. Thanks to her rising public popularity, Darby gained attention from producers and directors, and was given the lead role in the drama film “The Square Root of 2” in 2015, however the film didn’t garner any success, which put Darby back to supporting roles, such as Ruthie in the action adventure film “The Rendezvous” (2016), and as Ellen San Diego in the action horror film “Carnage Park”, the same year. Also, Darby works on several films, including the comedy “Willie and Me”, which will come out late in 2017, and action horror “Slumber”, scheduled for release in 2018.
Speaking about her personal life, Darby Stanchfield has been married to Joseph Mark Gallegos since 2009. In her spare time, she is very active across various social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram and her official Facebook page.
