Daniel Henry Edward Thompson was born on 4 April 1939, in Devon, England, and is a musician, best known to be a multi-instrumentalist who has played with various musicians throughout the course of his career. He’s been active in the industry since the 1960s, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

For his work, he was rewarded with a Lifetime Achievement award during the 2007 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, along with the original other members of Pentangle. They also did a short concert on BBC radio and would go on to tour the UK in 2008, doing 12 shows.

For his personal life, it is known that Thompson is married to Daphne and they have a son. His son would become the drummer for the band Hawkwind during the 1980s. He now resides in London. He is known to have converted to Islam in 1990.
