Christopher F. Kratt Wiki Biography

Christopher Frederick James Kratt was born on the 19th July 1969 in Warren Township, New Jersey, USA, and is a television personality who, as Chris Kratt, is most famous for being the screenwriter, producer as well as host of educational shows such as “Kratt’s Creatures”, “Zoboomafoo” and “Wild Kratts”. He is also widely recognized as a five-time consecutive nominee for Daytime Emmy Awards, from 2012 to 2016, for his “Wild Kratts” children’s animated educational TV series.

Have you ever wondered how much wealth this “wildlife enthusiast” has accumulated so far? How rich Chris Kratt is? According to sources, it is estimated that the total of Chris Kratt’s net worth, as of mid-2017, revolves around the sum of $1 million, acquired through his on-camera career which has been active since 1996.

Chris was born into a family surrounded with his parents, older brother and twin sisters. He is a grandson of William Kratt, the founder and owner of musical-instruments-manufacturing company Wm. Kratt Co. Chris attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, from which he graduated in the early 1990s, obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology. In 1990, he spent some on time on an internship within Conservation International in Washington D.C. while in 1991, he founded and launched Carleton Organization for Biodiversity. For his selfless efforts, Kratt was honored with the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship.

After graduation, alongside his older brother Martin, Chris founded the Kratt Brothers Company, based in the state of Vermont. Together, the Kratt Brothers steadily dived into the television business, and over the years specialized in creating and producing educational children shows, focused on nature and wildlife. In 1996 “Kratt’s Creatures” debuted on the small screen – the show in which Chris and Martin explore and explain the lifestyles of various wild animals. The show was honored with a Writers Guild of Canada award in 1997, and it also provided the basis for Chris Kraft’s current net worth.

In 1998, Kratts launched “Zoboomafoo” – a zoological children’s TV program which aired a total of 65 episodes ’til 2001. In 2003, Chris and his brother launched their new educational, documentary TV series entitled “Kratt Brothers: Be the Creature”, which aired for only one season totaling 14 episodes, but was followed by “Be the Creature” and “Be the Creature 2” in 2004 and 2005. It is certain that all these ventures helped Chris Kratt to add a significant sum to his wealth.

However, real success occurred in 2011, when the “Wild Kratts” TV series was launched. The educational and animated children’s program quickly gained attention from the toughest audience – kids! – and for its success in bringing wildlife closer to youth, “Wild Kratts” won five Daytime Emmy Award nominations in a row, between 2012 and 2016. Doubtlessly, these achievements have helped Chris Kratt to dramatically increase the size of his net worth as well as to gain even more fame among the kids.

When it comes to his personal life, Chris is married to Tania with whom they welcomed two sons. With his family, and alongside his brother, colleague and business partner Martin, Chris Kratt currently resides in Ottawa, Canada, where he continuously works on new educational TV series projects.
