Born as Jonathan Arthur DeBarge on 23rd June 1966 in Detroit, Michigan USA, Chico is a musician and singer, best known to the world for his tenor voice, and has so far released six solo studio albums, including “Chico DeBarge” (1986), “Long Time No See” (1997), and “Free” (2003), among others. Chico`s career began in the mid-‘80s.

However, as he got older, Chico decided not to perform with the family group, and focused on a solo career. Regarding his personal life, Chico has been married to Andrea Bordenave since 1996, and although in 2009 Andrea apparently filed for divorce, their marriage is still official. The couple have five children.

Chico has had several problems with the law; in 2007 he was once again arrested for drug possession, and after release entered a rehab center. In 2003 DeBarge was stabbed by John Gongs, who is allegedly an Italian mafia member, but he recuperated from the injury, and continued with his musical career.
