Cheri Oteri Wiki Biography

Born as Cheryl Ann Oteri on the 19th September 1962 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania USA, of part-Italian ancestry, and is an actress, probably best known to the world for her comedic characters in the popular comedy show “Saturday Night Live”, from 1995 until 2000, and also for portraying a number of upbeat, perky, or hyper characters in comedy films, including “Liar Liar” (1997), and “Inspector Gadget” (2000), among others. Her career started in 1995.

Have you ever wondered how rich Cheri Oteri is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Cheri`s net worth is as high as $2 million, an amount earned through her successful career in the entertainment industry.

Cheri grew up with her three siblings in her hometown; their father was Gaetano Thomas Oteri, founder and CEO of the music publishing company Of Music. Cheri was educated at the Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.

Little is known about her life before she moved to Los Angeles when she was 28; she worked for A&M Records, before she started pursuing a career in comedy, and joined the improve troupe The Groundlings, whose member was Will Ferrell as well. After the SNL producer decided to audition Chris Kattan, one of the members of the troupe, Cheri also auditioned and as a result she was brought into the SNL cast for the 1995-1996 season. She remained on the show until 2000, inventing several characters, such as Arianna, a part of the Spartan Cheerleaders, Cass Van Rye, co-host of the “Morning Latte” talk show, and many others. Also, she impersonated several celebrities, including singers Alanis Morissette, Cyndi Lauper, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and others such as Katie Couric, Gloria Stuart among many.

Two years after her first appearance on SNL, at the same time she made her film debut in “Liar Liar”, alongside Jim Carrey. In 1999 she made another successful appearance, in the film “Inspector Gadget”, and in 2000 she featured in “Love & Sex”, and “Lured Innocence”, which only increased her net worth. Her next role was in the film “Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd” in 2003, and the same year she appeared in the television movie “With You in Spirit”. After that she had the lead role in “Surviving Eden” (2004), alongside Michael Panes and Jane Lynch, and a supporting role in ‘Smile” (2005), starring Mika Boorem, Sean Astin and Yi Ding. In the second half of the 2000s she appeared in “Surveillance” (2008), “Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous” (2008), starring Jessica Simpson and Vivica A. Fox, which added a substantial amount to her net worth. After that, her popularity began to decline, and she appeared in several flops, including “And They`re Off” (2011), and “Bad Parents” (2012), and had guest roles in the TV series “The New Normal” (2012), and “Jessie” (2013), before she made a comeback with the lead role in “Christmas in Conway” (2013), starring Andy Garcia and Mandy Moore. Most recently, Cheri has worked on films “The HOA”, which still awaits it`s release although it is finished, and “F*&% the Prom”, which will be released in 2017.

Thanks to her skills, Cheri received several nominations and awards, including the Blockbuster Entertainment award in category Favorite Supporting Actress – Comedy for her work on film “Scary Movie” (2000). Also she was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award in the category Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on “Just Shoot Me!”, among other awards.

Regarding her personal life, Cheri tends to keep her life away from the public eyes, apparently currently keeping clear of any permanent relationships. However, in the past, she was in a relationship with actor Alec Baldwin, but the two broke up. Other than that, there is no information about her in the media.
