Charlaine Harris Schulz was born on the 25th November 1951, in Tunica, Mississippi USA, and is an author known for writing mystery fiction, although she tried writing poetry in her early years. Harris has written a series of books entitled “The Southern Vampire Mysteries”, which were adapted for the television series “True Blood” aired on HBO. Harris has been active in the industry since 1981.

The series contains 15 books, and the screenplay author Alan Ball designed the “True Blood” franchise based on the book series, with Anna Paquin in the role of Sookie Stackhouse, which has been broadcast by the American television station HBO since September 2008. The first book “Dead Until Dark” (2001) won the Anthony Award as the Best paperback novel. In 2012, the 12th part of the series – “Deadlocked” – was released, which won another Anthony Award as the Best Book. In 2005, Harris released another mystery series – “Harper Connelly” – which, like her other series, is located in the southern states of the US. Harper Connelly was hit by lightning as a teenager, and now has the ability to find the dead and determine their respective cause of death. The series contains four books. As of 2014, the writer has started new series “Cemetery Girl”.
Charlaine Harris is a member of the American Crime Writers League and the Mystery Writers of America association. She is also a member of the St. James Episcopal Church.
