Charice was raised by her mother Racquel, and because of hardship that struck the two, Charice had to start competing in singing from the tender age of seven. She made over 100 appearances in differing singing competitions, including those that were televised. Her father, who wasn`t with the family from her birth, was killed in 2011, and in affection of the tragic event, Charice wrote on her Twitter account that she loved and still loves her father, though he abandoned the family, and was quite struck by the unfaithful event.
In 2005 she made her first break, by entering the Little Big Star singing contest, in which she finished third, however, her fame was beginning as she managed to made a few appearances in commercials and TV shows, but that wasn`t enough to spark something bigger. Nevertheless, luck smiled upon her, as her performances were posted on You Tube by one of her fans, and soon after she was called up by Ten Songs Productions and recorded a demo, and continued with an appearance on the South Korean talent show “Star King”. She was then invited to appear by Ellen DeGeneres and sang “I Will Always Love You”, and “And I Am Telling You”. She made several more appearances across Asia, and eventually recorded her debut self-titled album, which came out in 2008. The album actually achieved platinum status within a year, which only increased Charice`s net worth and encouraged her to continue with her career. She then appeared in “The Oprah Winfrey Show’, and performed a couple of songs, after which Oprah called producer David Foster, and he became Charice`s main producer. She released her second album in 2009, entitled “My Inspiration”, which she dedicated to her mother – the album topped the Philippine charts and achieved gold status adding further to her net worth.
After the release of her second album, Charice` career reached a whole new level as she started performing at numerous prestigious events, including US presidential pre-inaugurations, then her first full concert, called Charice: The Journey Begins, among many other events, which only increased her net worth.
In 2011, her next album “Infinity” was released, but only in Japan since some songs didn`t pass US standards, and it reached No. 8 on the Japan Billboard Top Albums.
