Brett Scallions Wiki Biography

Brett Allen Scallions was born on the 21st December 1971, in Brownsville, Tennessee USA, and is a musician, best known for his tenure as the lead singer of the alternative rock band Fuel. His career started in 1994, when he joined Fuel, then known as Reel Too Real.

Have you ever wondered how rich Brett Scallions is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Scallions’s net worth is as high as $4 million, an amount earned through his successful career in music.

Brett Scallions expressed an interest in music and entertainment from an early age, having sung in church choirs throughout school. In high school he was a part of concert choir, show choir, and he also participated in various school plays. After matriculation, he went on to study music and theatre at Lambuth University, where he was on a scholarship. Despite his talents for more than one Fine Art, Scallions decided to pursue a career in music. To that end, he started to play in bars, both covers and his own original songs.

Scallions had a breakthrough in his career when he joined the rock band Reel Too Real, which would later become Small the Joy, from the moment they started doing their own songs, only to finally settle on Fuel once they released their second EP. His band members were, at first, Carl Bell (lead guitar), Jeff Abercrombie (bass guitar), and Jody Abbot (drums), and their first major success came when they signed with Sony550/Epic records in 1997, after which they released their first studio album, “Sunburn” (1998), which spawned hits such as “Shimmer” and “Jesus or a Gun”. The album was certified platinum, and reached second spot on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, so Brett’s net worth was rising steadily.

Two years later, the band came out with their second album, “Something Like Human”, which soared even higher and was certified double platinum. The album features their most famous song to date, “Hemorrhage (In My Hands)” (2000), which was released as the first single, and the album also spawned other hits, including as “Bad Day”, and “Innocent”. Scallions recorded one more album with Fuel, before parting ways with them in 2006. That album is called “Natural Selection” (2003), and is best remembered for its hit song “Falls on Me”. Despite its failure to reach the success of the previous two albums, “Falls on Me” was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2004, in the category Best Engineered Album, and its songs also became a part of the soundtrack for the superhero film “Daredevil” (2004), and for video games such as “Need for Speed: Underground”.

In his post-Fuel career, Scallions worked on several other projects, first joining bands The X’s and Circus Diablo as the bassist. Then in 2007 he became the lead singer in Riders on the Storm, a music project by two former The Doors members, Ray Manzare and Robby Krieger. He also collaborated with the former Fuel bandmate, Jonathan Mover, on the project called Re-Fueled, and started another project named World Fire Bridge with Sean Danielsen of the band Smile Empty Soul. They released one album, but since the members had touring obligations with their other bands, the project was short-lived.

In 2010, Scallions returned to Fuel, and once reformed, the band released its fifth studio album, “Puppet Strings” (2013). He still tours and records with the bands, but he also had a solo unplugged tour, performing mostly Fuel songs.

Regarding his personal life, Brett has been married to fellow musician, Abby Gennet, of the alternative rock band Slunt since 2005; together, they have two sons.
