According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Strong’s net worth is as high as $12 million, an amount earned through her successful career in the entertainment industry, which has been active since the mid- ‘80s. During her career, Brenda has appeared in over 120 film and television roles and has earned several prestigious awards, including the SAG Award for her work on “Desperate Housewives”, aside from two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for the same TV series.
Although born in Portland, she grew up in Brightwood, Oregon and attended Sandy Union High School, located in Sandy, Oregon. After matriculation, he enrolled at Arizona State University, from which she received a Bachelor of Music in musical theater. She moved to Arizona during her college years, and she was named Miss Arizona in 1980.
After graduation, she made her acting debut in the TV series “St. Elsewhere” in 1985, and throughout the decade appeared in minor roles in TV series and films such as “Weekend Warriors” (1986), “MacGyver” (1986), “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (1988), and “Matlock” (1989), among many other one-time appearances. Starting with the role of Jones in David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks”, Brenda started to gain more attention from directors and producers, and throughout the ‘90s had several notable roles, including as Allison King in the TV series “Scorch” (1992), then as Claudia in the film “Malice” (1993), and as Captain Deladier in Paul Verhoven’s Academy Award- nominated sci-fi action adventure “Starship Troopers”, starring Casper Van DIen, Denise Richards and Dina Meyer. Box office success of productions in which she appeared only helped increase her net worth.
Brenda started the new millennium with the role of Carmen Mackoul in the TV drama series “7th Heaven” (2000-2002), and then in 2004 she was selected for the role of deceased Mary Alice Young in “Desperate Housewives”, who narrates the entire series. Brenda’s character committed suicide in the first episode of the show, and from then served as the narrator of the show until 2012, and featured in 180 episodes, which increased her wealth to a large degree.
Concurrently Brenda sought other acting engagement, and landed roles in such productions as “The Kid & I” in 2005, then “Family in Hiding” (2006), and “Ocean of Pearls” (2008). Following the end of the successful series, Brenda was first selected for the role of Ann Ewing in the TNT revival of the CBS drama “Dallas” (2012-2014), and then was selected as the narrator of the TV reality crime series “Blood Relatives” (2012-2014).
In recent years, Brenda played Lillian Luthor in the TV fantasy drama series “Supergirls” (2016-2017), and Ilene Stowe in the “Walking Dead” spin-off “Fear the Walking Dead” (2016-2017).
