Benji Madden Wiki Biography
Benjamin Levi Madden was born on 11th March, 1979, in Waldorf, Maryland USA. He is a songwriter, singer, guitarist as well as producer widely known as Benji Madden. He, together with his twin brother Joel Madden, founded the music bands The Madden Brothers and Good Charlotte. Since 1995, Benji has been actively participating in the life of the entertainment industry.
Is Madden rich? It has been estimated that currently his net worth stands at $14 million. which has been accumulated through earning $185,598 per month and $2,227,171 per year (2014). It is expected that the following year, his net worth will be over $16 million.
In 1995, Benji together with his brother Joel formed the rock band Good Charlotte. The band which plays pop punk, pop rock and alternative rock music is active up to date. Current members are Joel Madden – the lead vocalist, Paul Thomas – the bassist, Billy Martin – keyboardist and guitarist and Benji Madden – vocalist and guitarist. So far, the band has released 20 singles, 5 studio albums, 2 compilation albums, 2 EPs, 3 video albums and 18 music videos. All the studio albums received certifications for sales: “Good Charlotte” (2000) gold (USA) and silver (UK), “The Young and the Hopeless” (2002) three times platinum (USA), 2 times platinum (Canada), platinum (UK and Australia), “The Chronicles of Life and Death” (2004) platinum (UK and Australia), gold (UK), “Good Morning Revival” (2007) gold (Canada), platinum (Australia) and silver (UK), “Cardiology” (2010) gold (Australia). Gold certifications in various countries welcomed the singles “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” (2002), “The Anthem” (2003), “I Just Wanna Live” (2005) and “Keep Your Hands off My Girl” (2007); platinum singles were “Dance Floor Anthem (I Don’t Want to Be in Love)” (2007), “Like It’s Her Birthday” (2010), “Sex on the Radio” (2010) and “Last Night” (2011). No doubt that all the above mentioned releases have helped to increased Benji’s wealth.
Then, in 2011the brothers decided to establish another band focused on pop and folk rock, and they founded The Madden Brothers band, which is active up until now. They have released three singles, a studio album and a mixtape. The single “We Are Done” (2014) topped the charts in Australia and New Zealand, and was certified platinum (USA and New Zealand).
Furthermore, Benji Madden has made appearances in films and on television. As a judge he appeared in the TV shows “Australian Idol” (2009), “The Voice Kids” (2014) and “The Voice Australia” (2015). More, he has starred in the films “Fast Future Generation” (2006), “Punk’s Not Dead” (2007), “Paris, Not France” (2008) and “6 Beers of Separation” (2009).
In 2002 Benji Madden and his brothers attempted to branch out into fashion, but that was hardly successful so MADE became DCME in 2006, specialising in hoodies, caps and accessories, and largely reflecting the owners’ personal tastes. Unfortunately DCME also closed its doors, in 2011.
Benji is a fan of boxing and martial arts. He has a big collection of Living Dead Dolls. His body is covered with countless tattoos including the tattoo of Ben Franklin on his back.
Madden was in a long term relationship with a singer, actress and model Sophie Monk. They were engaged though decided to split up after some time. Later, Benji dated singer Eliza Doolittle, television personality Holly Madison and model, actress and singer Paris Hilton. In 2015, he married actress Cameron Diaz. The family resides in Beverly Hills, California USA.
