Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger, Sr. was born on the 2nd March 1982, in Lima, Ohio USA of Swiss descent. He is a professional football player who plays in the position of quarterback for the team of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League. Ben Roethlisberger has been accumulating his net worth as a professional player since 2004.

To begin with, his father, Ken Roethlisberger is a retired quarterback and pitcher for Georgia Tech. Ben Roethlisberger was educated at Findlay High School where he played football, baseball and basketball, and was actually the captain of all of the teams. Later, he successfully represented the Miami University team playing college football. Ben managed to set a number of records as a college player, including most passing yards/touchdowns, most total offense yards in a game, season, career and many others. Roethlisberger was titled Miami’s Male Co-Athlete of the Year twice. Ben was named MAC Freshman Player of the Year and MAC Offensive Player of the Year as well as earning a Vern Smith Leadership Award.

Ben entered the NFL in 2004, when he was drafted 11th in the 1st round of the draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers; he has been playing in the same team up to date. Ben Roethlisberger is known for setting a number of records as a professional player, too. He became the youngest starting quarterback ever to win the Super Bowl, and is known as the All-Time Leader (Career Wins, Passing Touchdowns, Pass Attempts, Pass Completions and Passing Yards) of the Pittsburgh Steelers team. Currently, he is ranked number 26th in the Top 100 Players as of the data in 2015. On top of this, he was titled Pro Bowl (2007, 2011, 2014), and had a big part in his team winning the Super Bowl Championship (XL, XLIII) and AFC Champion (2005, 2008, 2010). Needless to mention the fact that all the above mentioned achievements and awards added much financially to the total size of Ben Roethlisberger net worth.

Despite of all the fame he received on the football field, he is usually headlined for other issues. In 2006, he suffered a motorcycle accident without wearing a helmet and without any motorcycle licence. He recovered after extensive surgery and many months spent in rehabilitation. In 2009, he was accused off sexual assault, however, charges were dropped. In 2010, Ben received another court summons, as he was again accused of sexual assault. Due to lack of evidence, Ben Roethlisberger was pronounced to be not guilty. In the season of 2010, he was suspended for six games because of the team’s personal conduct policy. Later, it was reduced to four games. Upon all those issues it might be concluded that Ben has a rather hot blooded and controversial personality.

Finally, in the personal life of the sportsman, he is married to Ashley Harlan with whom he has a son and a daughter.
