Amanda Crew Wiki Biography

Amanda Crew is a Canadian actress who born on 5 June 1986, she is perhaps best known for her lead roles as Felicia Alpine in “Sex Drive”, Tess Carroll in “Charlie St. Cloud”, and Carrie Miller on the television series “Whistler”, the role which gave her the Leo Award.

So how rich is Amanda Crew? Sources estimate that Amanda’s net worth is over $2 million, her wealth being earned from her career as an actress which started in 2005.

Amanda Crew was born in Langley, British Columbia, to a legal secretary mother, and her father a telecom worker. Amanda attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. As a child, she has appeared in a Coca-Cola commercial, but started her career in acting when she 19 years-old, when she played Polly Brewer in the teen drama “Life As We Know It”, followed by her role in “Smallville”, a television series. With Megahan Rath, she played as Tanis McTaggart in the YTV “15/Love” from 2005 until 2006, and the role which earned Amanda the Leo Award was Carrie Miller in the CTV drama “Whistler” from 2006 till 2008, for best Lead Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series. Also in 2006 she made her first motion picture appearance in “Final Destination 3”. All helped her net worth to rise.

“John Tucker Must Die” the romantic teen comedy was her next movie as a hallway girl, again in another romantic teen comedy, “She’s the Man”, she had a minor appearance. Her first lead role was in “Sex Drive” in 2008, as high school senior Felicia Alpine, who goes on a road trip with two of her friends. In the same year she played the role in “That One Night” as Marie, and as Jonna in “Monster Ark”, the television science fiction movie.

In 2009, she played a small role in “The Haunting in Connecticut” as Wendy, followed by “The Break-Up Artist” in the same year as Britney. As a young woman who plans to sail alone around the world, Crew starred in “Charlie St.Cloud” the romantic drama film in 2010; also in 2010, Amanda played other roles such as: “Funny or Die’s all That Glitters” as Whitney Carmichael, “Repeaters” the crime thriller movie as Sonia Logan, a drug addict, but this movie received negative reviews from critics, however, Crew was nominated for Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture for her performance, losing to April Telek. Her net worth benefited from these exposures.

In “Charlie Zone” the crime thriller movie in 2011, she starred with a different role as a heroin addicted single mother, and as Nikki in the family drama “Sister&Brothers” in 2011: the movie won six Leo Awards including Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture for Crew’s performance. She played her role in the thriller “Ferocious” as Leigh Parrish in 2013. Also in 2013 she had a minor appearance in “Crazy Kind of Love” the romantic comedy drama as Bette Mack, a woman who is having sexual relationship with the youngest son. Her net worth grew steadily.

In 2014, in “Silicon Valley” as Monica, Amanda played a positive role, and appeared in the police procedural drama “Motive” as guest star Robin Keaton, who is engaged to her son’s father’s murderer. Also in “The Identical” the Christian musical drama movie, she had the role as Helen Hemsley. She starred as Izzy Fontaine in the crime comedy movie “Bad City” in 2015, and as Kikki Jones in “The Age of Adaline” the fantasy romance in 2015, when she acted the daughter of Harrison Ford. In June 2015, Amanda played Alice in “Weepah”, a comedy drama. Again, her net worth was rising.

Amanda’s latest role will be Peggy in the sports drama movie “Race”, supposedly set to be released on 19 February 2016. Also the romantic sports comedy movie “ Chokeslam” is scheduled for release on 10 October 2016.

Amanda Crew Quotes

  • Life is too short to be doing work that doesn’t make you feel happy and fulfilled. I’d rather wait for the right project, as opposed to just taking whatever is handed to me.
  • For myself, I would rather take [fewer] roles and be working on films that I’m passionate about, that are going to challenge me and that I’m going to be growing from. I don’t ever want to take a movie just for the sake of working.
  • When I look for the next project, it’s always about, “Is it going to push me out of my comfort zone? Am I doing something different? Am I working with people who are passionate about what they’re doing?” At the end of the day, if I’m going to be bored on set, then I’m not gonna be happy.
