Jesse Louis Burns, Sr. was born on the 8^th October 1941, in Greenville, South Carolina USA. He is a Baptist minister and politician, who earned his fame through his civil rights activism and his presidential candidacy in 1984 and 1988. He had also been a shadow U.S Senator for the District of Columbia in the period from 1991 to 1997.
